Trent Rowers Successful in Boston
Last year the men's youth four from PRC raced to a seventh place finish, guaranteeing an invitation to this years competition. Mike Davidson from Adam Scott, Richard Joyce from PCVS teamed up with Mark Basterfield, Evan Fleming and cox Katie Rayner from Trent for this years race. The four finished fifth in a field of 40 boats, also posting the fastest Canadian time, beating crews from Kingston, Ottawa and Quebec. Their time guarantees them an invitation for next year. Ashley Holmes competed in the club single finishing 18th place. The Trent Varsity women placed 10th in the Collegiate Women's race, earning a guaranteed entry for next year with their time. The Trent women posted the second fastest Canadian women's eight time on the weekend, second to the National Training Center team. The Trent Junior Varsity women finished in the club women's eight division in 27th position. Trent athletes will now prepare for the Ontario University Championships to be held in London, Saturday, October 30th. Trent Cross Country

The Trent University Rowing team and Peterborough Rowing club sent four crews to the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Saturday, October 23. The race hosted over two days attracted more than 7000 international competitors. 
The Trent University Cross Country team traveled to St. Catharines for the Brock Open, Saturday, October 23rd. Freshman Chantal Gagne finished in 36th place with a time of 15:19.3 for the 4km race. Also competing for Trent was Jen Mair in 58th place(19:31.6), and Robyn Hoogendam in 59th place(19:51.2). Leading the way for the men's side was freshman Mike Minor with a 23rd place finish in a time of 19:33.3 for the 6km race. Trent will compete at the OUA Cross Country Championships, Saturday, October 30th, at Sunnybrook Park in Toronto.
Trent Men's Soccer
The Trent University women's soccer team wrapped up their OUA season with a 3-2 loss to the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, Sunday, October 24th. Playing in her final game for the Excalibur, Meg Watters scored 2 second half goals and almost netted a 3rd on a late breakaway chance. "Our girls really came to play in the 2nd half today," said Head Coach Bruce Rowe. "It's a positive way to end our season and it shows what we can do when we play our best." Trent finishes the season in 5th place in the East Division with a record of 1-9.
