Trent Athlete of Week Trent University is proud to announce that Becki Rodin is the RILEY'S-JUNCTION Female Athlete of the Week, for the week of January 26. Becki, a starting power on the women's volleyball team, helped her team to a 2-1 record this past week, including 20 points against La Cite. Rodin is a graduate of St. Petes in Peterborough, Ontario, and is a 2nd year English student.
Trent Returns from Ottawa with Split The Trent Excalibur volleyball team traveled to Ottawa January 24 and 25, for OCAA action. Trent left the nation's capital with a split, as they lost to Algonquin College, Saturday night, 3-0 (27-25), (25-13), (25-15). On Sunday, Trent defeated La Cite, 3-2 (23-25), (25-19), (26-24), (23-25), (15-9). Trent improves to 5-6 on the season, and remains in the hunt for the third and final playoff spot. "I feel good about our chances, we're tied with Royal Military College in points, and we get to play them at Trent again before the end of the season," said Coach Pete Carter. Leading the way for Trent was Peterborough native Becky Rodin, who had 13 kills, 3 blocks, and 4 aces (20pts), against La Cite.
