Student Accessibility Services & Accommodated Exams
Students registered with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) requiring accommodated time or other exam-related accommodations for an in-person exam must book their exams using the SAS Portal a minimum of 14 days prior to the start of the formal exam period. Regular midterms, tests, and quizzes must be booked 8 days before the test date.
The booking deadline for Final Exams is November 22nd at 11:59 pm
Students are required to book exams according to the university exam schedule. Date and/or time-shifting can be arranged in response to disability-related reasons after the booking has been completed in the SAS portal by emailing durhamexams@trentu.ca
SAS exams are typically written at the campus location where the course is offered. Students taking courses in Peterborough will write at the Centre for Academic Testing in Peterborough. Students taking courses in Durham will write at the Durham Exam Centre at either 55 Thornton Road South or 11 Simcoe Street North. Students scheduled to write at the Simcoe Street location ALC will be notified by email.

Information for Faculty
The Durham Exam Centre works closely with faculty members to ensure that all quizzes, tests, and exams are scheduled efficiently and written with integrity. All tests/exams are supervised by trained proctors.

Submitting Tests, Midterms, and Exams to the Exam Centre:
- An accessible electronic copy of your exam needs to be uploaded to the SAS Faculty Portal at least 5 business days before the test or exam date.
- Please submit files in Word formats (.doc/.docx). PDF files do not allow for accessibility-related changes.
- Detailed instructions about your exam need to be added to the Test Information screen in the SAS Faculty Portal.
- Scantrons will be provided by the exam centre for exams where faculty have specified the version required (80/100/150) in the Test Information screen.
Return of Completed Tests, Midterms, and Exams:
- Durham Campus faculty will find completed exams in their faculty mailbox by the end of the next business day
- Alternate arrangements such as sending exams to the Peterborough campus can be arranged using the additional information text box in the Test Information screen or by emailing durhamexams@trentu.ca.
Additional Professor Requests
The Exam Centre's mandate is to provide accommodated exams for students registered with Student Accessibility Services (SAS). If faculty wish to offer an alternate exam for non-SAS students, they are required to coordinate a date and time with the student and must schedule space to proctor the exam through Durham Scheduling at durhamscheduling@trentu.ca
