What are the symptoms?
Symptoms vary, but usually include:
- Fever over 100F/37.8C
When you have a fever, you feel cold and chills inside, but you will feel much warmer than normal to anyone touching your skin. A thermometer is the best way to test for a fever, but if one is not available, your flu buddy can use the back of their hand to feel the temperature of your forehead. Make sure that they wash their hands before and after any contact.
- Weakness/fatigue
- Lack of appetite
- Coughing
- Sore throat
In some cases, these symptoms are accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea.
