How do I protect myself and others?
Healthy employees are expected to come to work as normal. To stay healthy, we recommend the following precautions, in the workplace, and in all aspects of your life:
- Wash your hands often and thoroughly in warm, soapy water or use hand sanitizer. Good hand hygiene is the best way to fight all flu viruses. For details and tips on effective hand washing procedures, click here.
Note: The Trent Bookstore stocks a variety of sanitizing products, and a health preparedness kit.
- Cough and sneeze into your sleeve or a tissue, not your hand. Dispose of used tissues immediately.
- Keep commonly touched surfaces and items clean and disinfected.
- Stay home if you’re sick. Contact a health care provider if your symptoms worsen. Specifically, seek medical help if you experience:
- Difficulty breathing
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Severe or persistent vomiting
- High fever in adults that lasts more than two days
- Severe tiredness in a child
- Confusion or difficulty waking an ill person
