Enterprise Rent-A-Car is the University’s rental car provider. Enterprise offers a wide range for rental vehicles in Peterborough, Oshawa, across Ontario and the country utilizing preferred rates.
Reservations
Reservations can be made Online or by calling the general reservations line at 1-844-307-8008. Reservations can also be made by calling a specific location directly.
When booking, reference the University’s corporate ID L400202 for contracted rates. The Trent University corporate credit card should be used to book car rentals.

In the Event of an Accident
Should a rented vehicle be involved in an accident or be vandalized, the driver is to observe all legal provisions.
Guidelines After Accident:
- Check for personal injuries, call 911 if needed due to injuries or severe damage.
- If vehicle is drivable and if it’s safe to do so, pull to side of road away from traffic.
- Record all the relevant information.
- Put out beacons or flares if available.
- Complete a sketch of the accident, points of impact and damage.
- If you have a camera, record the damages and the scene.
- File an accident report within 48 hours (Ontario 24 hours at Collision Centre)
- Remember to get the Accident Report Number
- Police Officer Name and Badge Number
- Contact the Risk Management Department during regular business hours at 705-748-1011 Ext. 7372. If the accident occurs outside working hours, the driver is to inform Campus Security (705) 748-1333 who will in turn inform the Risk Management Department.
- Notify Enterprise of the accident by calling their Roadside Assistance team at 844-556-4930.
Staff, faculty, and students travelling for university business are automatically covered by the University’s non-owned vehicle insurance policy. The Department to which the vehicle is associated with is responsible to pay any insurance deductibles plus applicable taxes (if applicable). The department will consult with the Risk Management Department to coordinate any insurance claims. Departments are to ensure Accident Reporting Forms are kept in each vehicle along with a copy of the insurance and vehicle ownership.
