These courses aim to enhance the capacity of Trent faculty and staff members to effectively assist students in a variety of situations, and to help create a supportive environment that builds students’ life skills and ability to cope with a range of issues. Another goal of this training is to educate Trent staff and faculty on the services and resources available to Trent students, and to know when and how to refer students to them.
New Employee Orientation Networking Event
Every year the Department of Human Resources hosts 3 networking events for new employees to get familiar with their colleagues and with the Trent Campus. This is an event which requires registration and the link is mailed out to all new employees who have joined the university after the previous session. If you have joined the university in the past, have not attended this event and would like to, please contact human resources. For those employees registered to attend the event please visit the New Employee Orientation page, here you will find information to assist with picking a college, frequently needed department information, and the feedback survey for the orientation event.
Mental Health in the Workplace

The Department of Human Resources, in collaboration with the Student Wellness Centre, are working together to raise awareness about mental health in the workplace and creating an environment of wellness and health for everyone at the University.
