Allergy Injections
Trent Student Health Services (TSHS) is pleased to help students continue their allergen immunotherapy (allergy injections). To provide the safest and most consistent care, the following is required if you want to receive your allergy injections at TSHS.
-
Obtain an allergen immunotherapy prescription from an allergist. TSHS physicians do not prescribe allergy injections.
-
Have your allergist review our “Letter to the Allergist” which includes a list of requirements that the allergist must complete and provide to you before we can proceed with your injections.
-
You must send all the required documentation from the allergist along with a signed copy of our Allergen Immunotherapy Patient Agreement Form to clinicnurse@trentu.ca for review by our nurses.
-
If you have not received your allergy injections at TSHS before, or if there has been a change to your serums (i.e. different allergen), or if there has been an extended break since you last received your allergy injections, a TSHS physician will need to see you before a nurse can administer your allergy injections. Once your documentation (step 3) has been approved by the nurse, we will call you to arrange your first appointment. All students receiving their allergy injections at TSHS are required to have an EpiPen with them.
