Edmonton Trent Alumni gathered together in Edmonton once again this December, for what seems to be becoming a monthly event. Jim Doran'73 was met by 10 fellow Alumni, Jennifer Backler '93, Lisa Barty '87, Chris Bates '89, Margaret Burnfield '90, Ted Code '75, Julie Cormack '77, Neville Ferguson '72, Dave Fox '86, Roxanne Lalonde '78 and Pam Willoughb '70, at the birthplace of the Edmonton Alumni Chapter, the Sherlock Holmes Pub on Whyte Avenue. Food and drinks were good and plentiful, as was the conversation. A highlight of the evening was seeing the poster-sized photo of Ted Code being arrested by a Canadian Forces member for being suspected to be Serb sympathiser in his role as mayor of a town in Kosovo. Of course, none of this was quite real but the photo looked convincing. Soldiers from Canadian Forces Base Edmonton were conducting training exercises in Morinville (where Ted REALLY is the mayor) and many of the townsfolk were involved as "players" in the exercises. Ted was one of them and he was amazed at how realistic the soldiers made it all seem. These soldiers were going to Kosovo to replace the ones who were coming back after their tour of duty. At the end of the night, the group decided to interrupt their monthly gatherings and not meet again until February, to give themselves a break after Christmas. The celebrations picked up again in February to celebrate Dave Fox's master's degree from Trent.
