Social Work courses at the 1000 and 2000 level are open to any student. Any student may declare a social work major. Declaring a major does not guarantee admission into the Professional Years. Students will take four half credits in social work over years 1 and 2. In the winter semester of their second year, students can apply for entry into the Professional Years. Students must meet academic requirements in the general years to apply to for the Professional Years. If you receive a transfer credit for SWRK 3000Y, it cannot be used to meet the professional year admission requirements.
All students enter the BSW program in the General Years; there is no direct entry to professional years of advance standing at this time. Mature/transfer students may be granted transfer credits that allow them to begin their BSW at Trent in year 2 of the program. Transfer credits are assessed after students accept an offer of admission to Trent.
