Marty Wannamaker was a resident of Otonabee College and a student in the Administrative and Policy Studies Program. He had been selected as a student don for 1981-1982 and we had every reason to expect that he would bring to that position the vitality and enthusiasm that had characterized his two years at Otonabee. He was particularly active in hockey, both as a player and a referee. Marty died suddenly, on June 24, 1981, the tragic victim of a highway construction accident near Kaladar. The future seemed so full of promise. Marty will be long remembered by the many people who had the pleasure of knowing him, and through these annual awards presented by the Dons of each House in Otonabee College to an actively engaged member of their community.
