The Share Camp Fund was established in 2000 to give opportunities to children in need to participate in the Trent Excalibur Camp. Funds are received from supporters, organizations, and other camp families who believe in the importance of a camp experience in the life of a child. We are also partnered with Kids in Camp who match our funds to help us support even more kids access camp!
Who is eligible to apply?
Kids in Camp and Share Camp funding is intended to provide financial assistance to low-income families who do not have the financial means to afford the total cost of camp.
How do I apply?
Contact Kim Brazier (Camp Director) to discuss your circumstances and support you in making your application. We will then get you to complete the Kids in Camp form and send it to us at excaliburcamp@trentu.ca.
When do I need to apply?
The deadline for the first round of applications is Wednesday April 9, 2025.
How many camp sessions can I apply for my child?
Our goal is to assist as many children as possible and applications may exceed the amount of funds available. As a result, only one two-week camp session per child will be considered for funding.
Will I need to contribute to the camp fees?
The family is usually expected to pay a small or nominal portion of the camp fee. The amount is determined during the application approval process, and we will never put an unfair burden on the family.
What camp fees are covered through Share Camp?
Funding covers the normal registration fees for the camp program. Fees for supplementary programs (i.e. evening programs and add-ons) and extended care are not eligible.
When will I know if I have received funding?
Decisions on the first round of funding applications will be communicated to families by May 5th, 2025.
