Trent University Library & Archives continues to offer electronic collections and virtual services. As part of the University’s limited and reduced campus presence, Bata Library and the Durham GTA Campus Library & Learning Centre are closed and physical collections are unavailable. Virtual services and support are available by contacting Check for updates regularly on our COVID-19 Alert Page.

Resource Management Guidelines

Download the Word document.

Read the guidelines, process, and criteria we use for maintaining our Library collection.

"These guidelines are intended to provide direction within these changing environments to manage, develop, and provide access to academic information resources. These guidelines also serve as a means to communicate to our stakeholders the intention behind resource management decisions for all Trent University Library sites." (from the Guidelines)

The Internet version of the print magazine CHOICE: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries, CHOICE reviews significant current books and electronic resources of interest to those in higher education. Each year CHOICE publishes more than 6,500 reviews by subject experts. See the Help guide.

Choice is available through the Academic OneFile database, with a 6-month embargo.  We do not maintain a direct subscription.

Library Coordinator List

See the list of the current departmental Library Coordinators. This is the contact in each department who submits acquisition requests. Since each department sets its own priorities for purchases, all requests must come through a central source - your Coordinator.

Please be sure to keep your Learning & Liaison Librarian up-to-date on who is the Coordinator for your department.  If you don't tell us, we don't know.

Information on submitting material for Library Reserves is on the Submitting Reserve Material webpage.  It seems awkward, but you need to fill in the Reserves form first, so that the RT number can be included on the purchase request form; this is how we match them up.
