Award Criteria
The Decanal Award for Teaching Excellence in Nursing recognizes the recent use or development of meaningful and/or innovative methods of curriculum design, course instruction, learning materials and technologies, and/or assessment. This award honours teaching within a course (excluding practice courses) or a teaching project completed within the given academic year that supports students’ development and learning and promotes student engagement with nursing research and practice.
Eligibility
Eligible nominees include all TFSON full-time and part-time faculty who have taught at least one half-credit course in nursing during the academic year in which they are nominated. For the purposes of this award, the academic year is considered to begin in Summer Session of one calendar year and end in Winter Session of the following year.
Nomination Process
Nominations will be accepted for a two-week window at the conclusion of each academic term:
Nomination Window 1: August 6-20, 2024
Nomination Window 2: December 5-17, 2024
Nomination Window 3: February 2-March 3, 2025

Selection Process
All eligible nominations will be considered by the TFSON Award Committee in March.
Terms of the Award
Recipients of the award will be formally recognized and receive $500 and a framed certificate of their achievement.
