What does winning the Symons Medal mean to you?
Winning this medal is a wonderful way to close my time at Trent, and recognition of the hard work I put into my education. It is also a wonderful way to start the next step of my education – graduate school.

How will you make a difference with your Trent degree?
The professors at Trent are exceptionally focused on student comprehension - I will use my experiences with my professors at Trent to fuel my studies of mathematics education.

Why did you choose Trent?
I chose Trent because of the small class-sizes and the personal relationships that students develop with their professors. The program flexibility also allowed me to get a degree in mathematics and still be enrolled in art courses. I also chose Trent because of its beautiful campus.

What is the best thing about studying at Trent?

The best thing about studying at Trent is that students can work closely with professors in order to facilitate their own learning and gain insight into additional learning opportunities available.

What are your future goals?
I am looking forward to becoming involved with mathematics education – I feel that the system in place presently leaves many young students without an appreciation for how beautiful and truly intuitive mathematics can be and I want to change that.
