Trent University Alumnus Don Tapscott to Deliver Tapscott-Lopes Business and Society Lecture
Business leader calls to ‘reboot’ our institutions
Thursday, February 3, 2011, Peterborough
Trent University alumnus Mr. Don Tapscott will speak about his book, Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business & the World at the 2011 Tapscott-Lopes Lecture, free and open to the public on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in Wenjack Theatre, Otonabee College, followed by a reception and book signing.
Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business & the World was on the list for the Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year 2010. In the book, Mr. Tapscott shows that a powerful new model of economic and social innovation is emerging in every sector, including the environment, finance, health care, science, education, and the media.
Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business & the World is expected to be as influential and successful as his 2007 Bestseller, Wikinomics:How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything. The question is now posed: How must our institutions change for a new century, new media, new generation and a new economy?
One of the world's leading authorities on business strategy and how information technology changes business and government, Mr. Tapscott credits Trent's influence in developing his global awareness and passion for social change.
Don Tapscott and Ana Lopes established the Tapscott-Lopes Lecture to bring prominent speakers to the Trent and Peterborough community who will address issues of values and ethics as they pertain to business and society. The lecture is free and open to the public.
