Mr. Matt Keefer is a Trent University alumnus who received his B.A degree in History 2000. He has been a staff member at Trent since 2005 and currently holds the position of Manager, Information Systems in the Information Technology Department. He is responsible for working collaboratively with members of the IT team and the university community, and directs the development of technically efficient new application systems and/or enhancements to existing systems. As such, Mr. Keefer has developed a strong expertise in understanding the role that technology and digital information plays in lives of Trent’s constituents, how they interact with Trent’s online content on a daily basis, and where emergent technological trends might take us in the future.
Mr. Keefer has previously served as a Steward and as Vice-President of OPSEU Local 365, as well as participated in numerous committees and working groups around the University. Mr. Keefer was the recipient of the Provost’s Award in 2016, in recognition of his commitment and service to the University.
Mr. Keefer was reappointed for a second two-year term in a staff seat on the Board of Governors that began on July 1, 2021.
