Mr. Valentine Lovekin is a practicing lawyer in Toronto and Newcastle specializing in real estate, estate administration and corporate law.
Mr. Lovekin is also a highly engaged community volunteer, as he currently serves as Board Chair of the Newcastle Business Improvement Association, Board Chair of the Bloor-Yorkville Business Improvement Association, President of the Order of Malta Canadian Association, and is a member of the Collegium of the University of St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto. Previously, Mr. Lovekin was the Board Chair of Lakeridge Health Board of Trustees (to 2018) and Board Chair of Credit Canada (to 2010).
For the last thirty years, he has volunteered at Covenant House, providing legal counsel to street youth and serving on its Speakers Bureau. Until 2013, he rode with the Governor General’s Horse Guards Cavalry Squadron.
Mr. Lovekin graduated from Trent with a B.A. (Hons) in English and Philosophy and was a student in T.H.B. Symons’ Vanier Seminar. He received his law degree from York University Osgoode Hall Law School. Mr. Lovekin was reappointed to the Trent University Board of Governors for a second, three-year term effective July 1, 2024.
