Having taught at Trent since 2001, Dr. Feyzi Baban currently holds the position of Chair for the Global Justice and Development department at the university, following the success of his former role as Chair of the Political Studies department. Dr. Baban is an active member of the Trent community having served on numerous committees including Senate, Faculty Board, Quality Assurance, and more.
Feyzi received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Carleton University, an M.A. in Political Science from Bogazici University, and a B.A. in Business Administration from Bogazici University. Feyzi specializes in global and comparative politics, with an emphasis on globalization and critical theories of international relations. His current research interests include the impact of cosmopolitan theory, migration, and citizenship politics. Dr. Baban has been featured as a guest speaker at numerous events and institutions, on both a national and global scale, including MARUF '21, the Institute for Human Sciences (IWF) in Vienna, York University, and Toronto Metropolitan University.
Dr. Feyzi Baban has been appointed to a faculty seat on the Board of Governors for a term ending June 30, 2025.
