Broaden your perspective as you spend your first two years exploring a range of scientific, social, and humanist theories and issues as a BAS student at Trent. From there, you will head across the Atlantic to complete a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Honours degree at Swansea University in the UK in one of their dedicated medical pathway programs, including Applied Medical Sciences, Medical Biochemistry, Medical Genetics, Medical Pharmacology, and Population Health and Medical Science.

Graduates who meet academic requirements will be guaranteed an interview into Swansea’s prestigious School of Medicine. High achieving students, interested in taking their education further, also have the option of completing a graduate degree at Swansea, transferring to a Master of Science in Medical Biochemistry or Medical Genetics.

Admission Requirements
Ontario Secondary School Requirements:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- A minimum 80% overall final average
- A minimum of six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses
- ENG 4U with a minimum of 60%
- Other recommended courses include: 12U Chemistry, Biology and Math
Required courses while at Trent
Year 1
5.0 credits including the following:
- 1.0 ASCI credit consisting of ASCI 1001H and 1002H
- 1.5 BIOL credits consisting of BIOL 1030H, 1050H, and 1051H
- 1.0 CHEM credit consisting of CHEM 1000H and 1010H
- 0.5 PSYC credit consisting of PSYC 1030H
- 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List
- 0.5 credit in addition to the above from Humanities or Social Sciences
Year 2
5.0 credits including the following:
- 1.5 BIOL credits consisting of BIOL 2000H, 2050H, and 2070H
- 1.0 CHEM credit consisting of CHEM 2100H and 2300H
- 0.5 NURS credit consisting of NURS 2000H
- 0.5 ASCI credit consisting of ASCI 2001H or 3001H
- 1.5 credits in addition to the above from Humanities or Social Sciences
Students who achieve a minimum cumulative average of 77% (B+) or higher in 10 credits completed at Trent (Years 1 and 2) and are in "good academic standing" will be eligible to continue to Swansea for years 3 and 4 of the dual degree program.
