Residence Dining Plans

2024/2025 Academic Year Trent University Dining Plans:

All declining balance dining plans can be used at all Trent University Food Service locations including: Lady Eaton College, Champlain College, Peter Gzowski College, Otonabee College including Pizza Pizza, Subway and Tim Hortons, White Buffalo Cafe in Gzowski College, The Seasoned Spoon, The Ceilie, The Trend at Traill College, Traill College Annex Cafe. Starbucks, Bata Bean, and the Durham GTA Dining Hall.  Additionally, dining plans can be used to pre-order and pre-pay through the BOOST mobile order app.

Students living in a traditional dormitory room in Champlain College, Gzowski College, Lady Eaton College, Otonabee College, Traill College, Traill College Annex and the Durham GTA residence receive the Traditional Style Dining Plan.

Students living in a suite style room in Lady Eaton Annex, Champlain College Annex, Gzowski College Annex and a limited number apartments in Lady Eaton College, Champlain College, Otonabee College and Traill College will receive the Suite Style plan. 

Students who are assigned a Suite Style plan can elect to have a Traditional plan by contacting the TrentU Card Office.

Dining plans are designed to meet your needs for the term(s) that you are in residence.  If you have a remaining balance at the end of your residency, the balance will automatically carry forward to all future terms on a taxable basis.  Any carry forward is gratuitous and your dining plan remains non-transferable, non-refundable, and has no cash value.

Special Dining Plans for Residents of Traill College and Traill College Annex:

Students living in Traill College Annex:

A $5,650 Traditional dining plan is applied with a single or double room in Traill College Annex.  The resident will be provided a dining plan that includes 4 meals per week in the on-site dining room and a declining balance dining plan that can be used at all Trent University Foodservice locations, on a tax-exempt basis.  The 4 meals that are provided on-site include a single visit to the dining room in any given meal period, with a single hot meal, soup, salad bar, beverages, dessert, etc.  The 4 meals provided on-site cannot be used on evenings when special theme dinners are held. On evenings when special theme dinners are offered residents can purchase the theme dinner using their tax-exempt dining plan. If a resident does not use all 4 of the meals provided on site in each week they do not carry forward to future weeks. Unused meals expire at the end of each week and have no cash value and are non-refundable. Students who have eaten all their meals in one week may purchase additional meals in the Traill College Annex Dining Room using their tax-exempt declining balance dining plan.  If there is a balance of the declining balance dining plan at the end of the year the balance will carry forward to future years.  The dining plan has no cash value and is non-transferable and non-refundable.   

The 4 meals provided on site each week have a cost of $1,845.  The resident will have a declining balance value of $2,705. 

Students living in a traditional room at Traill College:

A $5,650 dining plan is applied to a single or double room in Traill College.  The resident will be provided a dining plan that includes $1,000 Trent Cash that can be used at any of our restaurant partners on and off campus and $3,550 tax exempt declining balance dining plan that can be used at all Trent University Foodservice locations.  If there is a balance of the declining balance dining plan at the end of the year, the balance will carry forward to future years.  The dining plan has no cash value and is non-transferable, non-refundable, and has no cash value.
