Shelley Strain has shaped the role of the SO at Trent for the last 15 years. As Trent’s first Sustainability Coordinator, Shelley established the SO with extensive experience in environmental education and outreach, program development, waste diversion and energy efficiency, and capacity/partnership building in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.
Shelley has a B.Sc. in Biology and an Ecosystem Management Technology diploma from Fleming. She holds the Certified Energy Manager and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional designations from the Association of Energy Engineers, as well as her LEED AP, Building Operations and Maintenance, and Accredited Green Roof Professional designations. Shelley is a key resource on campus for the practice of sustainability implementation.
