Recycling in Residence
Welcome to living in residence at Trent! You will find that you have two bins in your room. One for recycling and one for garbage. Students are responsible for taking their own waste to the outside bins to be sorted. Visit our sections on recycling, composting and deep diversion to better understand how to divert the waste that you generate on campus.
The best method we have witnessed over the years for residence recycling was devised by a group of students who did not want to go outside in the winter to sort. Instead, they would go for Sunday brunch as a group, and after would all bring their individual waste bins to the common area. They sorted it into larger bags in the warmth of their college and then took turns taking these larger bags outside. The SO likes innovation!
