Who can apply?

• Undergraduate (mainly) and graduate students enrolled in programs lending to the faculty above. 

• Students must have a minimum cumulative average of 70% to apply. 

• Please note that subject areas at partner universities may change. 

Academic Information 

• How many credits equal a full course-load at Trent? 

A standard full-time study load normally consists of 48 credit points in one academic year (24 credit points per semester - there are two standard semesters in each academic year). 

• Course load for one semester is 32 credit points = 2.5 credits 

• Course load for full year is 64 credit points = 5 credits

Dates 

• Session One: Late February – Mid June 

• Session Two: July – Late October 

• Session Three [Summer]: November - February 

Deadline for applications are November for Session One, and May for Session Two.

Tuition/Program Fees 

• Trent students are responsible to pay their normal Trent tuition fees as a full-time student plus Trent full ancillary fee package (no opt out options while abroad), tuition fees are waived at the host university.

Additional Fees

Financial Support 

• Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year.  

• OSAP: Check with our Financial Aid Department regarding OSAP eligibility
