Valued between $500 and $5,000 entrance bursaries are awarded each term to students with demonstrated financial need and are designed to supplement funding from other sources. Eligible students must be in receipt of OSAP, Canada part time student loans, First Nations band funding, or receiving support from the government financial aid program of their home province.

Entrance bursary applications are available in the myTrent student portal, under the Finances page.
Applications are available beginning in June of each year. The deadline to apply for entrance bursaries is July 31.
New Student Entrance Bursary – $500 or $1,000
Entrance bursaries of $500 to $1,000 are available to students with financial need who are attending post-secondary studies for the first time, starting in September.
Athletic Entrance Bursary – $500
Athletic bursaries valued at a minimum of $500 are awarded to entering varsity athletes with demonstrated financial need.
City of Peterborough Entrance Award – $2,000
Two awards per year are presented to entering students who are residents of the City of Peterborough, enrolled at high school in Peterborough, with a minimum 80% average and demonstrated financial need.
Joyce Family Foundation Entrance Bursary – $5,000
Open to residents of Ontario who have graduated from an Ontario high school within the last three years. Preference will be given to students from the regions of Peterborough City and County, Durham Region and Haliburton County with demonstrated financial need. A $5,000 bursary is awarded to four students each year with the potential for renewal for up to four years.
