Co-op students are eligible to apply for OSAP during their study terms, as well as apply for full-time funding while completing their work term which will help with living costs.
You don’t pay tuition during your co-op work terms but you will pay a compulsory fee of $750 per work term to cover some costs of the co-op program as well as the applicable ancillary and levy fees as set by Trent University.
Application Process
- Each semester of studies or work term requires a new OSAP application as your costs and earnings will change semester to semester.
- If you studying in the fall semester you would choose Fall Session - Undergraduate Programs as your program. To do this you will search Fall and all the applicable years will populate. You will select the Fall term of your current year and applicable campus. Example: You are studying fall term of your first year and you are a Durham campus student. You will select Fall Session - Undergraduate Programs (Durham), year 1 of 4.
- If you are studying in the winter semester you would choose Winter Session - Undergraduate Programs as your program. To do this you will search Winter and all the applicable years will populate. You will select the Winter term of your current year and applicable campus. Example: You are studying winter term of your first year and you are a Durham campus student. You will select Winter Session - Undergraduate Programs (Durham), year 1 of 4.
- There is co-op work terms for each and every semester that a student could do a work term. You will search CO-OP as the program name and select the applicable term and year. For example: You are in year 1 and it is the summer work term. Your program name would be CO-OP Work Term Summer - Year 1.
