Renewing Trent University’s Vision, Mission, and Values
There is no better time to be considering the value of a Trent University education than the present. What do you think Trent University’s signature should be? What is our aim? And in what ways is Trent uniquely positioned to deliver on that promise?
It is time to set Trent’s compass for the future.
By engaging in this process with the Trent community, we aim to ensure that the University’s vision and mission resonate with the evolving needs of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and broader communities.
What We Are Doing
- Reflecting on what Trent is, what we can be in the future, who we serve, and what makes us unique.
- Crystallizing a clear direction for the future.
- Anchoring decision-making.
- Building Trent’s reputation to attract outstanding students, faculty, and staff.
The Process
Key components to the process include:
- Listening Tour: Conversations with faculty, staff, students, and local communities.
- Consultations: Insights gathered during Board, Senate, staff, faculty, and community meetings.
- Broader Engagement: Surveys and focus groups engaging voices from Peterborough, Durham, and beyond.
A consultant will review the collected data in spring 2025, leading to the development of draft materials. The refined vision and mission will be shared in fall 2025 for further feedback and finalization.
