Thank you for visiting my home page. I am delighted to welcome you to Trent, a leading Canadian university which provides all the benefits of a personal, close-knit community, large enough to engage in cutting-edge research and offer our students a comprehensive range of rigorous academic programs.
I invite you to browse our website to see our strengths and advantages. They are too numerous to catalogue here, but I would like to note that they include longstanding excellence in Indigenous and Canadian studies; world renowned work in environmental science/studies; strengths in all the traditional and non-traditional liberal arts and sciences; and a growing range of professional programs.
You may access our programs, courses and events at an architecturally celebrated campus in a spectacular setting on the Otonabee River in Peterborough, Ontario; at our Durham campus in the heart of Durham Region – one of Canada’s most vibrant and fastest-growing regions; and electronically, in a growing number of online courses designed to make us available and accessible for students interested in opportunities for open, hybrid, continuing and international education.
With 2014 as the 50th anniversary of our founding, we are a relatively young university which is enthusiastically preparing the way for our next fifty years. We think differently and foster that in students. I encourage you to expect great things from them and us and the communities with which we intersect.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with your questions and comments. If you think they are appropriately addressed to me, you may e-mail me directly at leogroarke@trentu.ca. Discover more information on arranging a visit or tour of either of our campuses.
Best Regards,
Leo
