Trent University and Fleming College have collaborated to offer a dynamic and responsive nursing program on the leading edge of social issues affecting health. I invite you to explore how we can help you make your dream of becoming a registered nurse or expanding on your present nursing practice a reality.
Nursing is both rewarding and challenging, and the Trent/Fleming School of Nursing prepares new graduates to work in the increasingly complex and constantly changing Canadian health care environment.
The School’s curriculum was developed, and is taught, collaboratively between Trent University and Fleming College. We also partner with George Brown College in offering a PN to BScN program.
Some of you may be joining us straight from high school; others have done some previous post-secondary work or education and still others will be coming to baccalaureate nursing from a practical nursing background. The School offers a four year Bachelor of Science in nursing, a two and a half year compressed program open to students with previous university education and a five semester program for students who have completed the PN to BScN Bridge at George Brown College.
In 2018 we welcomed a new group of students - RN’s pursuing a graduate diploma in mental health and addictions nursing. Starting in the summer of 2020, we started, in collaboration with Ontario Tech University, a master’s in nursing with a focus on professional practice leadership.
Our educational units and programs have the maximum accreditation awarded by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing as well as approval by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Our strategic direction has been to: 1) continually raise the standards for clinical excellence and practice-ready nurses and 2) become a network of excellence for nursing and social justice.
