FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Students Voted on Facebook PUMP IT UP Contest to win
Tuesday, November 2, 2010, Peterborough
Trent University students will be treated to a free concert on November 9, 2010 by Metric, OKGO and KeysNKrates after winning a national competition on Facebook.
To win the contest, Trent competed against other universities by voting on a public event page on Facebook and had the highest votes as a percentage of students.
“WOOP WOOP :D,” “Trent Rocks!” and “YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!” are a few of the reactions of voters listed on the site, where students must visit to find out about ticket purchasing and the as-of-yet secret location of the concert.
“I can’t tell you much,” said Kai Kramer, vice president of the Trent Central Student Association. “There are details that I am under contract not to disclose.” Interested students must visit the Facebook event page to find out information as it is made available.
To get into the concert, students must have a ticket that they can pick up with a valid Trent student ID only on November 4, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m at a location to be announced anytime from 30 minutes to 48 hours before ticketing begins. The announcement will be on Facebook’s TD Music Experience event page and on Twitter. Tickets will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Any Trent student is eligible to receive tickets but priority will be given to those who voted.
Trent students may bring a guest to the concert even if they are not a Trent student. Tickets will be distributed in one location for all Trent University students, including Trent University Oshawa, Thornton Road Campus.
