 Annual Alumni House Student Art Show at Trent University March 15-19FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Special Evening Showing and Artist Reception on March 15 Friday, March 12, 2010, Peterborough The Trent University Alumni Association will host the annual Alumni House Student Art Show, featuring the works of over two dozen student artists, from Monday, March 15 to Friday, March 19, 2010. The show begins at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 15. A special evening showing and artist reception will also be held on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Alumni House at Champlain College. Throughout the week, the art show and Alumni House will be open to the public each day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the exception of Wednesday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year the Annual Alumni House Student Art Show includes 24 undergraduate and graduate student artists, and just over 60 pieces of art work in the following four categories: two dimensional, three dimensional, poetry, and photography. In addition to the $100 David Lasenby prize awarded in honour of retired professor and Trent alumnus David Lasenby for work deemed “Best in Show,” a $50 prize will be awarded by a panel of judges for the best work in each category. Artists are eligible to win one prize per piece of art.
