Trent Students Partner with ARAMARK on
First Annual Bikes for Tykes Event

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bikes Purchased by ARAMARK to be Donated to
Peterborough Big Brothers and Big Sisters

Wednesday, December 9, 2009, Peterborough

Trent students in Lady Eaton College (LEC) have partnered with ARAMARK to bring some holiday joy to children in the Peterborough community – donating bicycles and accessories to the local chapter of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

On Thursday, December 10 at 3 p.m., students will gather with members of the ARAMARK management team in the Junior Common Room of LEC to assemble the bicycles before Richard Brown, director of Food Services on campus for ARAMARK and Greg Mountenay, prime minister of Lady Eaton College, deliver the bikes to Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

“We are thrilled to be providing children's bicycles, protective equipment and bicycle locks to deserving children in our community this holiday season,” Mr. Brown said. “Our new annual Bikes for Tykes event is an exciting community building initiative that will give a deserving child the means to access community playgrounds and parks as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle to our youth.”

A leading provider of food and support services to colleges, universities and preparatory schools, ARAMARK serves over 200 million meals annually to students, faculty and visitors at over 400 institutions. ARAMARK provides residential dining and retail operations such as convenience stores, coffee kiosks, late-night eateries and branded restaurants.
