Trent University Annual Student Art Show Opens Today

Public Invited to See Feature Works by the
Students of the Trent Community
The Alumni Affairs Department of Trent University is pleased to present the Annual Student Art Show in celebration the artistic talents of current Trent students at Alumni House from Wednesday, March 18 to Wednesday, March 25.
The works of over two dozen student artists, both undergraduate, graduate and from every college, will be on display each day. Located in Champlain College, Alumni House is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the exception of the morning of Thursday, March 19 and on Wednesday, March 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The public is welcome to visit campus to see the show, and there is no admission charge.
Special Viewing on March 23
Alumni House will also be open for a special evening showing on Monday, March 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. All members of the Trent and Peterborough community are invited to attend.
The show features works in four categories:
- Two Dimensional
- Poetry
- Photography
- Three Dimensional
The $100 David Lasenby prize, established in honour of retired professor and Trent alumnus David Lasenby, will be awarded for work deemed “best in show”. In addition, there will be a $50 prize awarded by a panel of judges (Professor Julia Harrison, Professor Emeritus David Lasenby '64, and Marion Wilke-Whittington '78, president of the Peterborough Alumni Chapter) for the best work in each category. A $50 “People's Choice” prize will also be awarded via ballot by visitors to the show.
