2008-09 Academic Year

“Get Green Day” Event Kicks Off New Student Orientation September 12

As Trent University in Oshawa students head back to classes this week, plans are well underway to help new students get a jumpstart on the academic year with a lively orientation session entitled “Get Green Day” on Friday, September 12.

During the day-long session, students will team up and get a chance to get to know one another while familiarizing themselves with the Oshawa campus through a series of engaging activities, including human foosball, a scavenger hunt, and talent show.
“This event has been organized by Trent’s representatives with the Student Association and offers a great opportunity for students to share in fun activities that reflect the unique Trent experience,” said Murray Genoe, Associate Dean and Principal of Julian Blackburn College, who directs Trent University in Oshawa. “We’re excited to provide this kind of orientation so our new students understand how important they are to the Trent community.”
The itinerary for “Get Green Day” on September 12 is as follows:
- 9:00 a.m. Check-In / Intro Games
Location: Student Centre
- 9:30 a.m. Ice Breakers (Human Foosball, Line Up)
Location: Polonsky Commons
- 10:00 a.m. Team Meeting / Talent Show Practice

- 11:00 a.m. Frog Finding (Scavenger Hunt)
Location: Starting from Polonsky Commons, Whole Campus
- 12:00 p.m. Lunch (Special Guests from Boycott the Bottle/ Shine Kit Pick Up)

- 12:45 p.m. Shine Challenge

- 1:30 p.m. Team Regroup / Practice for Talent Show
