Singer-Songwriter Shannon Cutts Presents Beauty Undressed
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Special Performance on March 11 to Address Body Image, Self-Esteem and Eating Disorders
Friday, March 7, 2008, Peterborough
Singer-songwriter Shannon Cutts will deliver “Beauty Undressed”, a special performance that takes participants on a journey through our media driven culture to the core fundamental issues that are contributing to the rise of eating and mood disorders, low self-esteem and poor body image among students, on Tuesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. at Showplace Theatre (290 George St. N.)
As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist as well as an engaging public speaker and youth communicator, Shannon Cutts brings the hope of healing and full recovery to life through her songs and stories. And as the recent winner of the Billboard World Song Contest (CCM Category), and with two award-winning albums to her credit, she is living proof that it is possible to embrace and live out our deepest life dreams. She believes that if she could heal from her 15-year battle with anorexia and bulimia, anyone can.
This event is sponsored by the Trent University Counselling Centre and Active Minds (a new club on campus promoting awareness of mental health issues) along with the Women's Health Care Centre (PRHC).
All members of the community are welcome and there is no charge for admission. Tickets are available at the Women’s Health Care Centre at 157 Charlotte Street.
