President Patterson Declines a Third Term
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 18, 2008
Trent University’s president and vice-chancellor Bonnie M. Patterson has advised the board of governors of her decision not to seek a third term as president of Trent University.
President Patterson affirmed her commitment to complete her second term which will conclude in June, 2009. This timeline will allow for an orderly transition and development of a new presidential mandate to guide her successor.
The president has noted that it is business as usual and that there is much work to be done in the new calendar year.
Reid Morden, chair of the board of governors, noted that president Patterson is Trent’s longest serving president. “I know that she is fully committed to complete her second term which continues through to June 2009. As president during the last nine years, Bonnie can look back to a record of solid and exemplary achievement in moving the University forward. I am confident that, over the next 18 months, she will continue to lead the University with dedication, energy and enthusiasm.”
