Holding the Bully’s Coat
Tuesday, November 20, 2007, Peterborough
All members of the Trent and Peterborough communities are invited to a special presentation by Toronto Star political columnist, Linda McQuaig, on Thursday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lady Eaton College Lecture Hall.
Ms. McQuaig will be on campus to discuss her latest book, Holding the Bully’s Coat, in which she argues that as the Bush administration has turned the United States into a belligerent and lawless force in the world, the Canadian government has followed in close step.
Best known for her series of books challenging Canada's departure from the principles of universal social programs toward an American model of strict means-based programs, Ms. McQuaig is a winner of a National Newspaper Award. She is also a former national reporter for The Globe and Mail, a senior writer for Maclean’s magazine.
This event is co-sponsored by the Centre for the Critical Study of Global Power and Politics and the Trent Central Students Association (TCSA).
