Scott Farrow Posts Personal Best Times in Three Races
Friday, August 3, 2007, Peterborough
Scott Farrow, a Trent University Varsity swimmer and member of the Trent Swim Club (TSC), had an impressive showing at the 2007 Canadian National Championships held in Calgary, Alberta from July 26-29, posting personal best times in three races and placing sixth overall in the 50m butterfly.
Competing as a TSC member, Mr. Farrow swam the 100 Free in a best time and then qualified for the A finals in the 50 Butterfly in a lifetime best. In a very fast finals race, he placed sixth. On the final day of competition, Mr. Farrow qualified for the B final in the 100 Butterfly in a lifetime best. In the final, he raced to another best time and 15th place overall.
“Scott's performances are impressive in and of themselves,” said Sean Dwyer, head coach of Trent’s Varsity swim team and the TSC. “When you consider that he has only been swimming about six years (many of his competitors have been swimming from the ages of 8-10) and that he is managing graduate school and work on top of training, the performances are even more meaningful.”
Mr. Farrow is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Plant Physiology/Metabolomics at Trent University. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Trent and has been a member of the Varsity swim team for five years and the Trent Swim Club for one year.
