Tuesday, April 17, 2007, Peterborough

Trent University’s inaugural Report on Philanthropy has won a bronze medal for Best Donor or Volunteer Recognition Program in the 2007 Prix d’Excellence, the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education’s (CCAE) most prestigious awards program.

Report on Philanthropy“Having our first Report on Philanthropy recognized by a national council such as the CCAE is a great accomplishment,” said Dianne Lister, vice-president of external relations and advancement at Trent. “This medal is especially exciting because it recognizes our commitment to cultivating a true culture of philanthropy at Trent. Without our donors and supporters, Trent wouldn’t be the fine University it is today.”

The award will be presented during the CCAE’s national conference held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island at the beginning of June.

Developed under the mandate of the University’s new External Relations and Advancement portfolio, the Report on Philanthropy was created to honour and recognize the impact and contributions of Trent’s donors, supporters, and volunteers. The report was written and produced by the External Relations and Advancement team, designed by Christian Papist of Squeeze Design Communications based in Peterborough and printed locally by Lazer Graphics. Writing support came from Jennifer Garland at Cactus Group.

The CCAE’s award for Best Donor or Volunteer Recognition Program recognizes excellence in the planning and execution of an innovative event, program, service, or achievement designed to recognize the important role that donors and other volunteers play in the success of Advancement initiatives. The award is one of 30 given out by the CCAE each year to recognize outstanding achievement in alumni affairs, public affairs, development, student recruitment, and overall institutional Advancement.
