Victor T. Ridley Memorial Prize
The gift of Mrs. F. Millard in memory of the late Victor T. Ridley of Peterborough. Awarded to the leading undergraduates in first year Mathematics. (continuing as a math major).
Department of Mathematics Award
Established by faculty, staff, and friends of the Department of Mathematics. Awarded to first-year students enrolled in MATH 1110H, MATH 1120H, MATH 1350H, or MATH 1550H. OTSS guidelines apply.
Professor Bing Zhou Memorial Prize
Professor Zhou was a faculty member with the Mathematics Department from 1990 to 2017 and was chair of Mathematics from 2002 to 2007. Popular with colleagues and students, he combined his love for math with his love for teaching. Preference will be given to a student who has improved the most from MATH 1110H to 1120H, and to a second student who has the highest grade in MATH 2600H (Discrete Structures).
Cyril and Jenny Carter Scholarship
Awarded to a student of high academic achievement and promise entering the second, third, or fourth year of the Mathematics program.
Guinand Scholarship
This award, in honour of Andrew P. Guinand, the founding chair of the Department of Mathematics, is given annually to the top mathematics student entering the fourth year of his or her program.
