Moving In

Move-in for the 2024-25 AY is Sunday, September 1 for undergraduates and Monday, September 2 for graduates and upper year students (Peterborough and Durham)   

It’s almost time to move into your new residence at Trent! Before joining us, we have some helpful resources to make your day go smoothly:  

Before You Arrive 

1. Read the Residence Standards.

2. Read the Residence Agreement relevant to you:

   • Durham GTA Residence Agreement

   • Peterborough Residence Agreement

   • Peterborough Upper Year and Graduate Residence Agreement

3. Avoid move-in delays - upload your photo to the TrentU Card Photo Submission tool on the myTrent portal so you can access your residence.  

4. Coldex Fridge Rental – need a mini fridge for your space? Rent one from Coldex (coldexrents.com).

5. Refer to the email you received that includes your move-in time slot. You can access your move-in information in your original housing application in the housing portal.   

6. Check out our What to bring to residence guide. Don't forget a fan!

7. Submit the orientation form.

Are you a student with Indigenous ancestry?  

If you are a student who identifies as Indigenous (First Nations, Status/Non-Status, Métis and Inuit) living in residence for the upcoming academic year, FPHL provides you with the opportunity to move in early on August 31 (for both Peterborough and Durham Campuses)!

On the evening of August 31, FPHL will provide Indigenous student a Welcome Dinner in Peter Robinson Dining Hall.

Your community Dons and the rest of our staff are excited to support your big day! Carts will be available and student staff will be on hand to troubleshoot.  

Late Arrivals 

If you are unable to arrive during your scheduled move-in time slot, please contact Student Housing at residence@trentu.ca before you arrive on campus, and we will work with you to accommodate your needs. 

Move in Day 

Check in at your building key tent and pick up your keys. Student staff will be available to answer any questions you may have.  

Follow the maps below to find your Key Tent, building drop off area and parking:  Once you’ve checked in, use the maps and coloured signs to guide you to your space:  

• Otonabee College Map for room numbers that start with OCR - follow Blue signs - Please enter on East Bank Drive. 

• Gzowski College Map for room numbers that start with GCS – follow Yellow signs – Please enter on Gzowski Way.  

• Gzowski College Annex Map for room numbers that start with GANX – follow turquoise signs – Please enter at 1633 Water Street. 

• Lady Eaton College Map for room numbers that start with ECN or ECS – follow green signs – Please enter on West Bank Drive.

• Lady Eaton Annex Map for room numbers that start with EANX – follow purple signs – Please enter at 1633 Water Street. 

• Champlain College Map for room numbers that start with CCN or CCW – follow red signs – Please enter on Woodland Drive. 

• Champlain Annex Map for room numbers that start with ANX – follow orange signs – Please enter at 1555 Water Street. 

• Traill College Map for room numbers that start with WH or CRAW – follow maroon signs – Please enter on London Street.

Drop Off 

Prepare to quickly unload your vehicle after arriving at your drop off point. Once you've unloaded, park in a nearby parking lot labeled on the map to avoid congested traffic.
