Applied
Congrats on taking your first step and applying to Trent University!
You might be wondering what's next. To give you a sense of timelines, we've highlighted what you can expect in the coming weeks below.
Be sure to track your application, review any outstanding documentation, and check for transfer credits (if applicable).
YOUR NEXT STEPS
Title
Step 1
Keep your identification number handy (or stored in your phone)
The identification number we sent to you in an email is important to know. You will need to provide your number when you inquire about your application. If your application is successful, this number will become your official Trent University Student Number.
Note: If you did not receive the email with your Trent ID number, please check the junk folder of your email, and then contact admissions@trentu.ca
Title
Step 2
Add Trent to your email safe sender list
Once you apply, you will begin to receive emails from Trent Admissions outlining next steps and other important information to the email identified in your OUAC application.
Please ensure you add "@trentu.ca" to your 'Safe Senders' list in your email.
You may want to check your Junk Mail if you feel you have missed a communication from Trent.
Title
Step 3
Track the status of your application online
Set up a MyTrent account where you can track your application status, review outstanding documentation and check for transfer credits (if applicable). We will also share news and events related to your program of interest, so that you can immerse yourself in that area of study before you begin at Trent. Note: you will need to add "@trentu.ca" to the end of your username when logging in.
Please also review your application to ensure the information is correct. If you applied through OUAC, any changes must be made through your OUAC account.
Students applying from outside of an Ontario high school will be able to view required documents under the Required Documents icon on your myTrent portal (this can be found under the Academics tab). You will find document upload icons under the Academics tab of your myTrent portal for submitting the required documents.
Transfer students to degree programs will be able to view transfer credits using the Transfer Credit icon on your myTrent portal. Note that it may take 2-weeks after accepting the offer for your transfer credits to begin to appear.

Step 4
Mark your calendar
There are a few dates and deadlines to know. Find them all online, and set some reminders so they don’t sneak up on you.
Title
Step 5
Dig into student life
A welcoming and supportive community awaits. Find out about events, housing, scholarships and financial aid and life in Peterborough or Durham. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Send us an email and we’ll look into it for you.
Title
Step 6
Come see for yourself
Many of our students say they knew Trent was right for them when they saw our campuses for the first time. See for yourself by discovering Trent in person or virtually.
And feel free to connect with us by emailing discovertrent@trentu.ca or discovertrentdurham@trentu.ca.
Title
Step 7
Join the conversation
You can immerse yourself in the Trent community starting today! Learn about Trent, ask questions, find out about upcoming events, and become part of the conversation on Instagram or TikTok.
Don’t hesitate to contact us if you or your family members have any questions or concerns. We want to help make this what it should be – an exciting (not stressful) time in your life.
