The Frost Centre was pleased to host two graduates of our PhD in Canadian Studies program to speak about their work as founding members of the Graphic History Collective. The Graphic History Collective is a group of activists, artists, and researchers who combine art and history to promote education and social justice. Sean Carleton is an Assistant Professor at Mount Royal University and member of the Graphic History Collective. Julia Smith is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alberta. Both are graduates of the PhD in Canadian Studies at Trent.

In the spirit of fostering truth, understanding, and pathways to decolonization, reconciliation, and well-being in our relations, the Frost Centre encouraged students to participate in a Kairos Blanket Exercise on 6 February 2019, 10am-1pm, in the Senior Common Room in Scott House, Traill Campus. We hope the Blanket Exercise might guide us in moving forward with our endeavours at decolonization and reconciliation within the Frost Centre, as well as in our dealings with other academic units, and we are honoured to have this event facilitated by Ms. Betty Carr-Braint, Cultural Advisor/Counsellor of the First Peoples House of Learning. Lunch will be served.
