Michael Nolan '69
Former Principal, Peterborough Victoria Northumberland Clarington Catholic District School Board; former Instructor, Trent University School of Education and Professional Learning

As a principal with the Peterborough Victoria Newcastle Clarington Separate School Board, Mr. Nolan was responsible for starting and developing three new secondary schools. In addition, he was instrumental in establishing the first school advisory council within PVNC collaborating on a joint research project on leadership with OISE, establishing administrative practices and linkages within Family of Schools to improve student success and retention and with student government, school council and local health unit initiated Healthy Eating Program at St. Peter Secondary School. For the past seven years Mr. Nolan has been a course instructor and faculty advisor in the primary/junior program with Trent’s Consecutive Teacher Education Program.
Cathy Bruce
Professor of Education and Mathematics, Trent University
Professor Bruce has been studying teaching and learning for 25 years and is a founding faculty member of the Trent University School of Education and Professional Learning. A former teacher, Professor Bruce brings 14 years of classroom experience to her work as Associate Professor at Trent. She has been nominated multiple times for the Symons teaching award and is a 2012-2013 recipient of the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) teaching award.
Ruggles Pritchard '67
Associate Professor, University of Ottawa
Mr. Pritchard was a classroom teacher, Department Head of English and Physical Education, Vice Principal, and Principal, during a career which spanned thirty nine years. He is presently working for Hockey East Ontario as a Coach Trainer, and is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa.
Joan Sangster '70
Professor of Gender and Women's Studies and History
Dr. Sangster joined the Women's Studies Program and the History Department at Trent in 1988. She has held a Killam Research Fellowship, the Pathy Visiting Professorship at Princeton, and a Fulbright Chair at Duke University. She has been recognized for her research accomplishments with numerous awards and fellowships, including The Innis award for the best book in the Social Sciences in Canada. In 2003, she was appointed to the Royal Society of Canada.
Judy Sanders '84
E-learning teacher, PVNC
Judy Sanders has been teaching with the Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board for the past 25 years. In that time she has taught English, French, Family Studies, and Religion at the secondary school level, and Early Literacy at the primary elementary school level. She became the first full time e-learning teacher with PVNC in 2012, a position which has now grown to include 2 more full time teachers and 9 summer school teachers.
