Trent University 50th Anniversary Steering Committee Terms of Reference

The Trent University 50th Anniversary Steering Committee is Trent’s senior administrative executive body responsible for the successful planning, implementation, and celebration of the 50th anniversary events at Trent in the period September 2014 to August 2015. This Committee is responsible for coordination of all planning and implementation actions to be managed by various groups and committees, such as the affinity reunions and signature and milestone events. The Steering Committee is also responsible for the relationships to administrative bodies, such as Alumni Council, and Trent’s governing bodies, the Senate and the Board of Governors.

The Trent University 50th Anniversary Steering Committee is chaired by the President and Vice-Chancellor and represents the highest level of executive administrative decision-making within the university for all matters internal and external related to the 50th Anniversary, including:

• Develop and approve the 50th Anniversary Theme and all plans and events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Trent University
• Develop a budget proposal, to be approved by PVP, and implement budget processes to ensure effective allocation of resources
• Ensure effective relationships to Trent’s governing bodies and various collegial committees and other decision-making and consultative bodies
• Monitor progress, receive updates and identify actions on all university activities and projects associated with the 50th Anniversary of Trent University.
