As part of the Master of Management program, students have the unique opportunity to serve as consultants for local organizations. The community-based consultancy option offers students the opportunity to lend their management expertise to leading organizations on projects that enhance program and operational success, contributing to the overall economic, social, cultural, and/or environmental wellness of the community.
As part of a 160-hour placement, students collaborate with organizations such as the Municipality of Clarington, the Township of Brock, Canadian Armed Forces, and leading professional associations. This hands-on experience allows students to apply their knowledge and skills to address practical challenges encountered by organizational management. By working closely with these organizations, students grow their professional networks while gaining direct and meaningful experience with organizational strategy, policy, and action-oriented research in the workplace, contributing to continued success and growth in various sectors.

Municipality of Clarington - Accommodation and Return to Work Policy and Procedure Enhancement |
Students successfully completed a project aimed at enhancing the accommodation and return to work policy and procedures for the Municipality of Clarington. Through an extensive literature review, data analysis, interviews with Clarington officials, and collaboration with other municipalities, the project identified the most effective practices. A meaningful outcome of the project was the recommendation to implement an Accommodation Flowchart, which streamlined the organization's accommodation process.
