"My best memories from Gzowski College remind me of all of the friends I met in first year who I continue to stay in touch with today. Gzowski College was my home base on campus throughout my four years at Trent, and the place I always proudly point out as my college (a.k.a. housed the “cheese building”). Supporting Gzowski directly supports the day-to-day, tangible elements of student life that makes their Trent memories and experiences carry on to future years."

"Gzowski College is special because it offers spaces that bring people together. For many it will be their first home away from home. Gzowski College offers connections to peers, professors, professionals, artists, storytellers, and so much more. I continue to support the college today because I want to foster the same community I had when I was a student. As students navigate their time at Trent, having somewhere like Gzowski College as a place to learn and grow is really important.”

“Gzowski is an intersection of cultural exchange and curiosity that empowers the individual to become who they were meant to be. One of my favourite memories is from my time serving on Gzowski College Cabinet. We had planned to do a smores night but due to unforeseen circumstances, could no longer host a fire. I collected little candles and safe glass candle holders which I placed in a circle on one of the tables in the atrium. People gathered and we sat close together melting marshmallows and chocolate over the candles. What it lacked in the satisfying smell of campfire smoke it made up for in creativity and conversation. Memories like this are why the impact of donations to the Gzowski College Endowment can't be measured in budget lines. Rather, these donations soften homesickness, quiet exam stress, and weave together a community of peers who will be the light in each other’s lives through all the highs and lows of university life.”

“My educational journey led me to moving farther away from my home community of Six Nations of the Grand River territory and from friends and family. Despite this, I was able to feel a sense of belonging at Trent, and more specifically Gzowski College. Even though I had a home off campus, I practically lived at Gzowski College, often moving between the different spaces available. Hanging out with friends in the Gathering Space, doing assignments and getting mentorship from the staff in the First Peoples House of Learning, dropping in to see college staff due to my various involvement with student committees, or popping out to the tipi in the traditional area just beyond the college parking lot. But perhaps the greatest memory of Gzowski College is being able to sit in a room named after my great grandfather Jake Thomas. This is what made me truly feel like I was at home, amongst friends… and family.”

"Gzowski College will always hold a very special place in my heart. Gzowski College, and Trent University, helped to shape who I am today. It was the place where I attended classes, studied, lived, and where I formed lifelong friendships. Gzowski College was home, it was comfortable and yet challenging in all the right ways. I always find my way back to Gzowski and Trent; I am a proud Trent alumni and current staff member."
