Program Options
The Department of Chemistry offers courses leading to specialties in each of the main sub-disciplines, organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry, and biochemistry. Chemistry supports and is supported by the offerings of other Departments such as: Physics, Biology, other traditional sciences, and the interdisciplinary program Environmental and Resource Studies.
More details can be found in the Academic Calendar.
CHEMISTRY
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Single Major, Joint Major, Honours or General)
Focusing on the modern components of chemistry, Trent's program has been developed to give students a strong foundation with an emphasis in hands-on experience and research opportunities.
BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Single Major, Honours or General)
Molecular biology and biochemistry are providing profound insights into diseases, physiology, genetics and evolution. This program bridges biology and chemistry at Trent, providing you with a solid foundation in both disciplines.
ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY
Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry (Single Major, Honours or General)
Trent is renowned for its focus on environmental issues. This program provides a solid background in both chemistry and environmental science. You will be prepared to handle challenging environmental problems from a multidisciplinary perspective.
CHEMICAL PHYSICS
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Physics (Single Major, Honours or General)
This program allows you to specialize in the physics and chemistry of atomic, molecular and solid-state systems. Chemical physics focuses on the techniques you will need to develop an understanding of the fundamental principles of our physical world.
