  • National Occupational Classification (NOC) - The National Occupational Classification is the nationally accepted reference on occupations in Canada. It provides descriptions of over 30,000 job titles, including info on qualifications and education required.
  • JobBank-   Info about job opportunities, job demand, wages, skills requirements, and more. You can find out where the jobs are now and where they will be in the future. Produced by the Canadian government.
  • Inside Career Info: Career Reports - Searchable collection of hundreds of candid career reports written by "insiders", successful professionals who are actually doing the job.

Labour Market Information

  • Career Planning Tool - developed by the Government of Canada. This is an easy-to-use, web-based search tool that provides detailed information about the benefits of working in various occupations and helps students determine the education and training they need to pursue to get quality jobs.  You can also compare programs based on how graduates are doing professionally, see average pay and employment rates by field of study, learn what jobs are in demand and view the ones available on  the Job Bank, and much more info.
  • Labour Market Information, Ontario - The Ontario Government provides data and analysis of labour market conditions and trends in Ontario, as well as in specific regions or communities.  It also included career and education planning tools.
    • Ontario Employment Profile is a great source of key information on the employment outcomes of Ontario college graduates.  As well, it features information about graduate satisfaction to help people choose programs at Ontario’s publicly-funded colleges.
    • Ontario Skills Passport (OSP) is a free resource that provides easy-to-understand descriptions of Essential Skills and work habits important for success in work, learning and life. 
  • Local Labour Market Information - The Workforce Development Board (WDB) provides local, current, and relevant information on labour markets, occupational demand, and hiring outlook.
