About Co-op at Trent University
Co-op is a form of work-integrated learning that allows students to gain 12 months of paid experience in a workplace setting related to their program of study while completing their degree.
Every co-op program at Trent follows a set work term schedule that allows for alternating periods of full-time academic study and full-time paid work experience. During this time, students strengthen their workplace skills, expand their professional network, and cultivate strong relationships with employers and diverse communities.
With over 25 co-op programs across the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences to choose from, Trent’s competitive co-op streams offer benefits for students to explore opportunities related to their individual career goals and employers looking for exceptional talent and specific skillsets.
Our dedicated Co-op Team supports students and employees throughout the co-op program, offering guidance, resources, and support throughout the recruitment and hiring process.
Why Co-op?
Students gain marketable skills, hands-on paid work experience, and connection to industry professionals and future employers, while employers can hire and train up-and-coming talent, receive support with special work projects, and apply to access federal wage subsidies and provincial tax credits.
